MultiStrike Video Poker by video poker and slot machine manufacturer IGT is one of the coolest variations of video poker that I have ever played in a casino. I remember playing it for the first time out in Las Vegas at Treasure Island and I was instantly hooked. When I saw that I could play Multi-Strike Poker at online casinos too, I ran straight for the virtual poker machines to play. Online casinos powered by Microgaming software offer MultiStrike Poker, but they refer to Multi-Strike Video Poker as “Level Up Poker.”
How is MultiStrike Poker played?
Multistrike Poker is a four hand video poker game. Before you start the first hand, you purchase all four hands of video poker, even though you must earn the right to play the second, third and fourth hands. You start by playing the first hand at normal pay and must achieve a paying combination to advance to the next hand. If you get to play the second hand, your wins are double the normal pay on the second hand, and a winning combination will allow you to play the third hand on Multi-Strike Poker. Wins on the third hand of MultiStrike Poker are paid at four times the normal pay, and a winning combination on the third hand will allow you to advance to the fourth hand on the game. On the fourth and final hand of MultiStrike Poker, all wins are paid at eight times the normal payout.
There is also a “Free Ride” card which will appear on some hands. These “Free Ride” cards allow you to advance to the next level, even if you do not acquire a winning combination on the current hand.
